The way Bradshaw gripped the football. Lambert running in place before the snap. Swann's acrobatics. The dominance of the 70's front four. The 1976 season. Bradshaw's throwing motion. That TRS and Heinz Field were/are where 3 rivers meet. Ben's scrambling early in the SB43 game winning drive.

Moments in that season have made both the love and the hate thread for me. More to love: - Winning 10 in a row (including the Colts playoff win) after starting the season 1-4. Steelers opponents' winning pct that year was .528. - Only 28 points surrendered in the last nine games including only two TD's. Only TWO TD's given up in nine games. - Eight defensive players making the Pro-Bowl. - Mike Kruczek's game management skills for a rookie going 6-0. It took Ben to break his record for consecutive wins. - Franco and Rocky both rushing for 1,000 yards. - Destroying the Colts in their house for the first playoff game.

As I always like to point out, not only did the Steelers destroy the Colts to get another playoff win, they probably saved lives doing so...for minutes after the game ended, this happened: If the game had been close, there probably would have still been people up there.

That was so weird. If I remember the original broadcast correctly, they had gone to a commercial break after wrapping up the game, and when they came back on they were announcing some of the sponsors with the image of the crashed plane in the background. Then they went to the NBC tools in New York who then explained what had just happened. You're right Jeemie, there could have been some serious loss of life that day. Thank God there wasn't.
