And is it just my imagination, or do the Pirates always seem to draw the opposition's best pitchers.? Well, the Buccos do have a tendency to make the oppositions worse pitcher look like their best! Fister is far from the Tigers worst pitcher. In fact, he is #2 behind Verlander. 1-3 with a 2.68 ERA. He's been hurt and when he's actually pitched, the Tigers do not score him any runs at all. Porcello is easily the worst starter. Don't think that was a reference to Fister, but rather the Pirates' tendency to make bad pitchers look good in general. There are many examples, even just over the past two seasons.

Quote: Of course I get to go to game 2. Maybe I'll bring some batteries with me A. Poor Dave Parker B. Lincoln will have the Steelerfury good luck if you're in the park Fury....I saw Lincoln pitch live three times...He was nasty in all 3 games. The Pirates may need the bats to pick them up this weekend...At least baseball is still interesting in June

Quote: The Rays designated infielder Drew Sutton for assignment, Roger Mooney of the Tampa Tribune tweets. The Rays claimed Brooks Conrad off of waivers, reinstated Jeff Keppinger from the disabled list, recalled Brandon Gomes, placed Matt Joyce on the disabled list and optioned Rich Thompson to Triple-A in related moves.
The Rays acquired Sutton from the Pirates for a player to be named about a month ago, shortly after the Pirates acquired him from the Braves. Sutton, 28, posted a .271/.314/.354 batting line in 51 plate appearances for the Rays this year. The four-year MLB veteran played first, second and third base.
