He wants more money as soon as he is healthy because he was the AP defensive player of the year in 2011. Ray Ray, Reed and Suggs all want MORE. Pigs and the Ravens get slaughtered.

Not a lot of leverage when you're likely headed to IR.

LMAO, and people ripped Willie Colon for refusing to take a paycut.

Our boy Mikey only wants close to Larry Fitz money. Maybe he can get it from Snyder next year if he has a monster year.

Big difference between paying a reigning defensive player of the year and a WIllie Colon. Suggs just trying to get paid in some form or fashion since the Ravens could deem Suggs' injury a non football injury and reduce his 2012 salary.

Sugg's last deal guaranteed him 40m and was front loaded. As he heads into the back end of the contract he gets less right when he feels he should get more. How about them apples. Renegotiation time. I don't think the Ravens will cut Sugg's 2012 salary and piss him off. We also won't be cutting Wallace's $2.7M to 575,000 for the same reason. Hardball won't make them play better and stay with the team.

Would be a huge paycut for him, but at least he would have men there.

Do you really believe this rumor generated out of a really real expressed concern from Mike Wallace verbally saying he wants this kind of money?

Wallace believes that he is a top NFL receiver and should be paid close to Larry Fitz money.

Wallace wants a long-term deal with the team but proffered a one-year tender because he is a restricted free agent. He has not signed the offer, which according to the Post-Gazette would pay him nearly $2.75 million in base salary.

That's not enough, Wallace believes, since he is coming off a Pro Bowl season. At 25, Wallace has 171 receptions, 3,206 yards and 24 touchdowns in 48 games—numbers he believes should get him a contract in the neighborhood of some of the NFL's best receivers. He has played every game over three seasons and has become a top target in the offense.

If Wallace persists in his obstinacy, he could find the initial tender withdrawn and be offered much less—to the tune of nearly $2 million, the Post-Gazette reports.

Team officials are fine with the idea of a long-term deal for Wallace, but talks in that direction are at loggerheads.

Oh, for fuck’s sake…..
-There has been no public statement regarding this situation from Mike Wallace, Bus Cook, or the Steelers organization. How in the hell can you conclude what Wallace “believes”?
-The only source stating that Wallace wants Fitz/Megatron type money has been a 49ers beat writer from the Sacramento Bee citing a “league source”. THIS HAS NOT BEEN CORROBORATED ANYWHERE ELSE
-The article you’ve linked to does not cite any sources relating to the contract negotiations. It’s worthless.

Someone wake me up when something important actually happens….
