Thought it would be fun to start doing these after each draft. Here's a link to the 2012 draft results:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2012_NFL_Draft#Player_selections

To keep things simple, just pick the player you would have rather seen the Steelers select at each of Pittsburgh's nine draft slots. If a player is still on the board for that spot, go ahead and pick him. If they're gone, tough. If you wanted the same guy the Steelers took, take him again. A basic re-draft.

Here's my picks:

1.24 - David DeCastro, G, Stanford
2.56 - Mike Adams, T, Ohio State.
3.86 - Alameda Ta'amu, NT, Washington
4.109 - Brandon Boykin, CB, Georgia
5.159 - Chris Rainey, RB, Florida
7.231 - Toney Clemons, WR, Colorado
7.240 - Chase Minnifield, CB, Virginia
7.246 - Dale Moss, WR, South Dakota St.
7.248 - Adrian Hamilton, OLB, Prairie View A&M

1.24 - David DeCastro, G, Stanford
2.56 - Mike Adams, T, Ohio State (knowing what we know now about his attitude re: Steelers)
3.86 - Alameda Ta'amu, NT, Washington
4.119 - Miles Burris, ILB, San Diego State (or James-Michael Johnson, ILB, Nevada)
5.159 - Trent Robinson, FS, Michigan State
6.193 - Michael Smith, RB, Utah State
7.231 - Junior Hemingway, WR, Michigan (or Dale Moss, WR, South Dakota St.)
7.240 - B.J. Coleman, QB, Tennessee-Chattanooga
7.246 - Cordarro Law, OLB, Mississippi State
7.248 - Adrian Hamilton, OLB, Prairie View A&M

I didn't trade up for Ta'amu, so I took back my 6th round pick, thank you very much!

I didn't see a starter capable guy at ILB past r2. Wait till next year to groom a guy or hope Sly can step up.

1) David D
2) Josh Robinson
3) Brandon Thompson
4) Greg Childs
5) Justin Bethel - i actually rate Rainey a bit higher, but I'm a big BBatch fan, makes it harder to add value as a situational RB. where our long-term depth chart at S is a black hole.
6) Acho
7) Clemons
7) Paulson
7) Frederick
7) Beachum.
