You forgot about L. Pope. He's the #2 TE.

How different/better the offense becomes ultimately falls on Ben. I think across the board most are assuming Haley > Arians. None of that matters if Ben doesn't evolve with the changes.

I've seen plenty of times where underneath routes are wide open yet Ben still takes a sack while looking downfield.

Good point.
I believe that's where BA's abilities end, and Haley's pick up - just by the nature of how he's handled similar situations in the past.
I don't think anybody expects Todd Haley to pull a Bruce and stand there with his thumb up his ass chewing his cud if he does his job, puts his receivers in place to receive, and sees Ben consistently "take a sack while looking downfield."

Quite the contrary in fact, as his detractors here have frequently lamented.
And I think that Todd Haley's penchant for being publicly and immediately vocal will make a huge difference in helping Ben tweak his game...
...like we all say he needs to anyway...

If you've ever coached, mentored, parented, whatever, and were faced with helping to address the behavioral concerns of someone you had stewardship over, you already know that such concerns are best addressed immediately and clearly.

We have no Idea what BA said to Ben later in the week after a game.
My take is that by waiting to address any concerns he might have had with Ben's play, the effectiveness of any corrective coaching would have been significantly dampened.

Likewise, the more severe the concern, the less of an impact a coach could have by waiting to address it.

Never said Haley needs to go all Bobby Knight on Ben.
I've only ever asked that Ben have the benefit of a coach instead of a buddy when doing his job.

With his golf buddy gone hopefully those days are behind us.

I expect more from a coach, and that's where Todd Haley will stand head and shoulders over Bruce Arians...

...for a long time many on this board have been calling for O-line help in the draft...this year it happened....all ben needs is a little more time and some different options (RB pass) and this offense will take off

2 things been on my mind about this lately

1. If Adams pans out (I know DeCastro will), with Gilbert at RT and Pouncey at OC, this OL has the chance to be sick as fuck for a Loooooooooong time. These guys can play 10 years together. Thats unheard of in todays league

2. Anybody still want Carl Nicks? I know I don't. and didn't. We needs to thank our lucky stars we such a good scouting department

Let's see a full season of Haley as oc

I am not saying Haley will fail.

Let's play some games

Ben had already sent Haley messages in the media don't yell at me I don't respond to it.

Should be interesting.

I was one that called for a Carl Nicks type of free agent signing. Tell me though, IC, in two years time, how much money is Pouncey going to make?

When DeCastro signs that second contract, how much money is he going to make?

The Steelers are doing great assembling this offensive line but they are also going to have to find ways to keep it together down the road.

The amount of money that we have spent on the LB corps these past few years is coming to an end. We can't continue to pay 3 LBers top dollar and have little left to pay for other needs.

Don't forget Mike and Maurkice still want to play together...so you might have to find room for him too.

yep, now add Carl Nicks contract to that and see where it gets ya

at least with these two guys, they have the opportunity to resign them a year early and maybe save a few bucks before they hit UFA
