The Ta'amu pick could make our ILB's a lot better if he can occupy a lot of space and fill two gaps effectively. I think he will see some playing time.

Teddy Bruschi rated the Steelers as the best draft in the AFC.

He also said that the Steelers may have one of the best offensive lines in the NFL now!
I don't know if that's true, but it sure was great hearing the terms "best" and "Steelers...offensive line" in the same sentence!

With Haley & a good OL, the O can be finally be the force we've all been saying it has the potential to be for the past 4-5 years or so...

Kinda begs the question:
If we hadn't shown BA the door this offseason, and had given a harder look at his draft requests instead of Haley's, would there have been such an intelligent emphasis on drafting OL?
Or would it just have been another bunch of missed opportunities?

Hypothetical, of course, but I wonder...

I kinda see it the other way... If you're going to ask your QB to play a little sharper and get rid of the ball, and you're looking at the line and thinking about investing there if you get the chance... Then I think you have to ask yourself if BA was the guy. If you interview him and his response is that your blocking schemes are what they are and anyone can do it, and he's comfortable with his tactics and playbook, then maybe it is time to move on.

I honestly think the Steelers took the BPA at a need position these past few years. I don't think they would've drafted different in the first 3 rds regardless of who was coaching. They know they have holes, they don't have an order to which holes get addressed first.

If there was OL available that was worthy of the 08, 09 picks, I think thats what they would've drafted. I'm happy it worked out the way it did, it seems the Steelers are picking a different need position than 31 other teams every year, & the cream falls to the bottom, cause those others reach for their current needs, rather than looking to the future.

I'd also axe Scott & resign Starks for insurance. Scot deserves to be tarred & feathered for his play at LT last year.

disagree. Our coaching staff should be slapped. Hard. Repeatedly. For putting him out there in the first place.

See, I agree with Sarge here. Its not totally Scott' s fault that he sucks, but it is the coaches fault that he was put at the most important position on the O-line without as much as a challenge from any other players!

We had no other players at the time to issue such a challenge.
We had to scramble like frantic rats and re-sign Starks to salvage something out of that embarrassing fiasco.

Thank the football gods that Starks was available at the time.
I'd hate to think where last season would have gone otherwise! :(

I'd still like to know who in the front office/coaching staff let us wind up in such a hairy fucking predicament.
Until confirmed otherwise, I will continue to put it on BA.
Just like when he was still on the payroll...

Let's hope the lesson was learned and we never end up in jeopardy like that again...

I know this will go over like Christians at a Slayer show.

I expect the Steelers to show some looks with both Hampton and Ta'Amu in the game other than goal line.

Not a classic 4-3

Maybe the ranger defense (players standing and moving)

Cover both guards with Hampton and Ta'Amu...Show man over the outside receivers...Everyone else moving
