No ones getting cut Colon will start at RT, DeCastro at LG, I see them using Adams as a swing tackle this year to determine what he"ll start at next.

Scott will be the number 1 backup at LT this year.

They won't start two rookies on the oline, unless Colon gets injured.

I feel a whole lot better having Essex back up LT than J. Scott. JMO

J. Scott is a better back up RT. Foster at RG and DeCastro at LG. I saw somewhere that Foster was going to move to LG. Think it was over there at triblive.com, Kaboly.

I am hearing and reading good things about the Beachum OG out of SMU. May not be ideal sized but the kid can pull and has one hell of a nasty to his play. (played LT for SMU) Could be a surprise player that sticks as a swing OG.

We have a shitfull of offensive linemen for camp (15 by my count). At some point there will be cuts (6 or 7?):

Cannot be Cut (5):
OT Gilbert
OT Adams
OG DeCastro
C Pouncey
OT Colen (because of his current year bonus).

Possible Cuts (4):
G/C Trai Essex
G Ramon Foster (if we find a second starting guard)
G/C Doug Legursky (DeCastro can back up Pouncey if necessary but then we need another OG)
OT Jonathan Scott

Bodies (6) :
OT Kelvin Beachum
OG Ryan Lee
OG John Malecki
OT Chris Scott
OG Desmond Stapleton
OT Trevis Turner

Gilbert - Foster - Pouncey - DeCastro - Colon

Tomlin told Decastro he was going to be a right guard - probably a good move given how much his selection has already been credited to have solved the offensive line's lengthy struggles. He probably doesn't need to concern himself with a new position at this stage. I don't doubt Pittsburgh's commitment to start the best 5, which could include DD at LG, but for now it's at RG.

I'm high on Adam's desire to be a great player, make a name for himself, and to win lots of games with the Steelers. Can't say I want to see him as the LT at this juncture, though. He has to prove that he can win battles in practice against proven pass rushers before he sees the field there, imo.

Gilbert - Legursky - Pouncey - DeCastro - Colon is my guess. The team gives high marks for a guard to pull and Foster is just to slow to pull right. They are also paying Colon a fortune and can't justify him riding pine.

Personally I'd like to see Adams - DeCastro - Pouncey - Foster - Gilbert, thus group would only get better with time. Also it would allow Legursky, who I like, to see time blocking at the FB/HB position; which inexplicably goes to DJ? As well as having a tremendous backup at all three interior positions. yeah, but Tomlin also put Pouncey at RG.

What's going to happen is it's going to become abundantly clear that there's a massive hole at LG, and the best G prospect in years should probably go there.

You know who is more pumped about this draft than anybody?

FC.

Because his o-line breakdowns before each game just got a HELL of a lot more interesting to write about. I'd say it's hard to get inspired every week to write about guys like Chris Kemoeatu and Jonathan Scott. :D

I think Legs should be added to the Cannot be cut list...IMO, while he is not the ideal starter he is a very solid backup at 3 spots along the OL.

yeah, but decastro can play 3 spots and Essex can backup 5. A guy like Wade could steal Legs job with an unexpectedly strong showing... he also plays OG and OC.
