Correia had every opportunity to get outs after that and completely caved.

While I agree, I'm not giving Cutch one ounce of the benefit of the doubt in this instance. That play was fucking horrid and the difference in the game.
Not excusing it no matter what.
But time to move on. We need Cutch, we need KCore. Let's hope we can at least take 2 of 3 from the world champs, who are so far playing like it.

Oh yeah, didn't realize we played 4 down there. Split would be damn nice then.

A road start during a day game for Correia? How can the guy lose?
Seriously it's time to move Pedro up. Pitchers aren't giving him much right now because he is intimidating them to a certain degree. He is stinging the ball well and showing some patience. Time to make pitchers really have to work to get around him. I'd wait....he's still only hitting .176 and is seriously lost whenever he's not getting fastballs. He's starting to do better lately batting sixth. Keep him there until he gets to .220 or .230 at least. You could put Walker in the two spot and move Tabata down. Tabata is hitting .200 so it wouldn't be that much a drop off in the average, while the power numbers would greatly improve. It replaces a .455 OPS with a .693 OPS. You'll probably be surprised to know that Pedro Alvarez ranks twelve out of 20 in regards to 3B with 25+ PA in the National League. Just about average. And trending up. I'm also pretty sure he hasn't hit a fastball out of the park yet.Great point about the homers, Sham. After re-watching, 3 of the 4 were hit on changeups and the last was a curve. I think the basehits lately to the left side have been great also....he seems to just make better contact with the shorter swing going the opposite way. I still think he gets fooled way too much by the sliders and curves, but things are definitely improving with Pedro.

Sure, when he falls behind the count he struggles with junk out of the zone. That isn't something specific to Pedro. That is common for just about every power hitter. But early in the count he is laying off the junk and killing it if it is left over the dish. I see Pedro's problems as not punishing fastballs early in the counts. He hasn't been squaring up the fastballs that he should. He has gotten too many 1-0 fastballs that he could really damage that he ends up wasting foul. Big league pitchers rarely give you more than 1 pitch you can drive during an AB and if you waste your chance then you are going to wind up in a hole.
