Resurrecting the JFK thread here simply because I just finished reading Stephen King's newest book "11/22/63." I love the time travel and alternate history stuff, and I've been a big fan of Stephen King's stuff since I first read "The Stand" nearly 30 years ago so picking up the book was a no-brainer for me. I won't get into any of the details here, but will tell you that the hardcover edition is 849 pages long, and I tore through it in five days.

Stephen King first came up with the idea for the book 40 years ago, but he decided against pursuing it at the time due to all the research and time it would take. He discovered he was right about that when he did pursue it a few years ago. While there are a few anachronisms I discovered reading it - one is that he said the Dallas Texans would become the Dallas Cowboys - it's pretty spot on with the historical aspects of Kennedy, Oswald and life in general in the USA from 1958 to 1963. If you enjoy this sort of thing, pick it up and give it a read. It won't give you any insights as far as the conspiracy theories go, but it's a damn fun read.

Reading a lot of JFK-related books lately. The latest is another work of fiction but supposedly based on fact. "American Adulterer" by British writer Jed Mercurio is a pretty good read that focuses not only on the late Presdient's philandering, but alson on his appalling medical condition. The book ready like a case study of the President referring to him as "The subject." There are some factual errors such as the writer having the "Ich bin ein Berliner" speech taking place after the Berlin confrontation in 1961 when it actually occurred during his 1963 European trip. Also, it is mentioned that JFK and Jackie flew directly to Dallas from Washington, DC, on the day of his assassination, when he had actually left for Texas the day prior and spent the night in Houston I think. Anyway, give it a shot. It's a pretty good read.

That abc special was riddled with bullshit. Iirc, their acoustic debunking was, itself, debunked. They also failed to account for the extra bullet fragments which were recovered and documented.

Also, with the E Howard Hunt confession/narrative, if you look at the events from Bay Of Pigs to JFK assassination to Watergate break in... They all appear to be related; same cast of characters in each one. Don't know if you've seen the photo blow up from the steps in front of the depository but that sure appears to back Howard Hunt's story.

If you want the forensic evidence to back up in not being a lone gunman, along with a few other tidbits... Email Cyril Wecht's office and explain what you're looking for. He once sent me a 1" thick collection of photos and reports. He is incredulous at thenaccepted theory, based on his analysis of the facts... He's an expert, obviously.

Well regardless of whether it was a conspiracy or long-gunman or whatever, one factor in particular contributed greatly to JFK's death - his back brace. It kept him upright after the initial shot through the neck. He wasn't able to duck because of the brace. Made it easy for the head shot.

B2B, I fully agree. That show was a load of BS. There are too many unanswered questions, and like you, I definitely see links between events in the early 60s to the Watergate scandal. Not sure what I think of Hunt's full story, but there are definite connections. Scary to think of, but nonetheless.
