How much money did that dude make last night? The machine!
That was the greatest game since Reggie Jackson's game in the 77 world series..
If I am Mark Washington - I do not pitch to him the rest of the series.....no matter the situation.
I have to think that Pujols is a top 5 hitter of all time and maybe the greatest right handed hitter in MLB history - anybody better? Can not think of one guy......have to go back to Roger Hornsby or Honus Wagner maybe - thats a long time ago - those dudes never saw pitching like he has seen in his career.

Pujols is an all-time great player player and had a huge game 3. On the flip side he was a big reason they lost game 2. Took the collar at the plate and cost them a run in the 9th with shoddy defense. Then he hung his teammates out to dry by dodging the media. I lost some respect for him after reading about that. Leaders should be accountable and answer for themselves when they mess up and not leave it for teammates to make excuses for them.

Gil Hodges........Pujlos hit batting practice pitching the other night, and nothing since. Plus Ron boy pitched to him with 1st base open.
La Russa has made more mistakes than Wash.

Pujols also seems to work on learning when to call hits-and-runs, since he "has the freedom" to do so. Additionally, he needs to learn that if a hit and run is on, he has to SWING the bat...even at an unhittable pitch!  _________________ I know this, your ability to think concisely, your ability to make good judgments is much easier on Thursday night than during the heat of the game. -Bill Walsh

La Russa has made more mistakes than Wash. I love the old Brooklyn Dodgers. Gil Hodges was great, excellent defensive first baseman. However, if you're going by World Series, he was 0-21 in the '52 Series. A well placed hit by him, and the Bums may have had their first WS victory three years earlier. That said, he's in the top 10. Killebrew's up there too. _________________

That's a pretty damn good list, Jack. Difficult to argue. I'd bump Killebrew and perhaps Murray ahead of Pujols, other than that, I like your list. Hodges gets a nod, but you raise an excellent point about his performance in that series. Gil is in my top 10.
