If Romo career thus far had played out the same and he was QB of the say Tampa he wouldn't get near the attention he does as QB of the Dallas Cowboys.
I don't hold the same disdain for the Cowboys that many do mostly because I was only a pup in the 70's and didn't get to relish their role as 2nd fiddle. I didn't really stop hating them until XXX where they handed a trophy by simple mistakes. As for Romo, he could play in Tampa or Dallas. Only difference is the number of sportswriters that cover the team. Thats where his fame, or infamy, come from

I'd take Staubach over Aikman as the best Cowboys' QB. Not by much though.

Aikman was a great QB, no question about it. I thought he led the most dominant post-merger team which was second only to the 70s Steelers.
I saw Staubach play and saw Aikman play. I can say without any hesitation, Staubach was far and away the more dangerous QB in big games. Aikman had a better post-season record, you can't take that away from him. But he didn't have to face the 70s Steelers twice in the SB as did Staubach. Roger the Dodger acquitted himself well, but that Steelers team was the greatest of all time, certainly the greatest of the post-merger SB era. I take that under consideration.
Having said that, neither of those two can match the championship dominance of Bart Starr, Terry Bradshaw and Joe Montana.

I really can't think of any awesome or great throw that defined Aikman. If you boil it down, all he had to do was not fuck things up by throwing picks. Remember when Emmit had his 3 game holdout? Where in the hell was Troy, he certainly didn't carry his team ...hell Trent Dilfer or Steve Deberg likely could've quarterbacked those Championship teams. Not saying Troy was unclutch, but he was an interchangeable part in that machine.
