I don't get it. I respect tradition but I don't let it interfere with the goal. Yesterday the tourny operators should have adjusted starting time, 2 or 3 hours earlier. There was rain in the forecast and there's no lights, so why put the players & fans into this position of probably having to suspend play. Even bigger, why put the players into possible injury that could wreck their Wimbeldon chances?

Suspending play takes the momentum from Novak, who could possible win version of GS. Novak's best shot of beating Nadal, who is just incredible at the French is withstanding early barrage, getting it into 5th set, Nadal's body doesn't last as long as Novak's.

That's exactly how it was playing out, but with suspension Nadal gets a second fresh start, very tough for Novak but not impossible.

This was truly stupid tournament management, unfortunate for the tennis world.

I don't think it would have changed the outcome

Nadal is a machine on clay.

How many rings would Montana have if his SB opponents had two first quarters and he didn't have a 4th?

The match was following the same pattern as their other matches. Novak's physicality started to rise, Nadal's was at the point where his physical spurts had to be selective. That's exactly the formula that gets them to probably a tie breaker in the 4th that Novak would have won, then the tennis world would have gotten a real 4th quarter.

Watch the replay and listen to Johnnie Mac, who might be the most insightful commentator in American sports. Listen to his verbal body language, he could sense that this was going to a 5th set. Then came the break.

That crazed Serb is pissed. Wait till he pushes Nadal all over the court at Wimbeldon.
