Anyone watching? Should be interesting. Everyone down on Rory, I expect him to do well even though he generally doesn't do well in poor weather. Accuracy off tee and ability to play out of rough will be even more important than usual. I think Tiger has strong performance but don't know if he has enough to win.
Darkhorses I'm keeping an eye on are Cabrera-Bello, Olesen, and Branden Grace. Nick Colsaerts as well but he's not a darkhorse.
Should be great tournament- interested in hearing your picks if you follow.

Happy to see Adam Scott in the lead.
If he can keep his driver under control he will be there abouts at the end.
Coelsarts has been in great form in Europe. McIlroy will be focused to do well but the two players that scare me on the top end of the leaderboard after day 1 are Zach Johnson and Steve Stricker. Straight, consistent players that have great short games.
Looking forward to watching plenty of golf tonight. The coverage is already on.

Scores are too low for my liking in a British Open. Those 105 bunkers aren't slowing down the scoring at all. Hopefully Tiger is in the mix come Sunday. That always makes for good tv.

I fucking love golf...I actually got up to watch the early rounds Thursday and Friday Snedeker is going to cool off with the putter. Scott will choke under the pressure Woods is fucking Woods...If he is within 3 shots on the back 9 Sunday he could win another major I'm pulling for Snedeker and Graeme McDowell...Both are beauties on and off the course. Adam Scott is awesome...If he wins I will be stoked. I love the bunkers in Europe...Hazards should be hazards. I love the "whispering" rough

Wow. Epic collapse. Van de Velde did it on one hole but to give up four in a row?
Love Ernie but feel horrible for Scott.

The curse of being an Aussie golf fan.
I grew up a Norman fan beginning in 1984. I have watched so many tragedies over the years.
I have seen so many Aussies lose majors in so many different ways that I now cannot bring myself to watch the final round of a major if any are leading. Didnt watch the final round ( coverage is from 11pm to 5am here) as I kind of expect something to happen.
Ever since 1986 I have struggled watching the last round due to these events.
1984 US Open - Fuzzy Zoeller -- Norman WATCHED IT. 1986 Masters - Larry Mize -- Norman WATCHED IT. 1986 PGA - Bob Tway -- Norman WATCHED IT. 1986 US open - Ray Floyd -- Norman WATCHED IT. 1989 British Open - mark calcavecchia -- Norman and Wayne Grady WATCHED IT. 1992 - US Masters -- Fred Couples - Craig Parry ( abused by fans all day. that loud you could here it through the mikes) WATCHED IT. 1993 US Masters - Nick Faldo -- Norman WATCHED IT. 1993 US PGA - Paul Azinger --Norman WATCHED IT. 1995 US open - Corey Pavin -- Norman 2002 British Open - Ernie Els -- Steve Elkington and Stuart Appleby WATCHED IT. 2008 British Open - Padraig Harrinton -- Greg Norman COULDNT BRING MYSELF TO WATCH 2011 US Masters - Charl Swartzell -- Jason Day and Adam Scott WATCHED IT. 2012 British Open - Ernie Els -- Adam Scott COULDNT BRING MYSELF TO WATCH
And those are off the top of my. I think there are a couple more in there that I have forgotten
My nerves just cant handle it anymore and it makes for a cranky person for the next couple of days.
Congrats to the big easy -- my favourite non aussie golfer.

Schwartzl won the Masters, it wasn't that Scott lost it. Here he did.

Thanks Deebo for stating that.
My post was in context of majors eluding Aussie golfers. Majors are won and lost, unfortunately as an Australian we have seen our share either slip away, thrown away or snatched away. All make for hard viewing is the point I was trying to make.
Many people dont realise that Schwartzel started with a bullshit chipin on the first ( on a similar scale to the Larry Mize chip in ) when staring down the barrel of a bogey and holed an iron from the fairway on the 3rd for eagle. I view this major as being snatched away whilst being well within reach.
