Not only may Pedro's HR be a turning point, but it was a great opportunity to get a camera view of his hot wife, along with the other two hotties--Fort's wife and Cutch's GF. Now that's what I'm talking 'bout.
Wandy gained some respect from me last night. I'm guessing from his teammates and perhaps coaches as well. He came in, did his job and we got that win. I hope, moving forward, he gains some confidence with his new team from this experience.
I loved all our pitchers last night, except Cruz. That dude needs to go.
Not sure who we'll have going tonight, you are most likely right. You and Pro are my go-to guys when it comes to Buccos baseball.
I probably won't be with us here on the board during these next 2 games. Too fucking late, I'll DVR them and watch early morning most likely. I hate WC games, and this road swing is idiotic, in my opinion. But let's get the Pads on their home turf and give them a taste of their own medicine. Let's GO!

http://www.piratesprospects.com/2012/08/kyle-mcpherson-and-justin-wilson-to-join-the-team-correia-could-start.htmlQuote: I just spoke with Kristy Robinson, who is on the road traveling to West Virginia for minor league coverage. According to her sources, Kyle McPherson and Justin Wilson are both joining the team today in San Diego. Kristy also mentioned that no starter had been announced, but that Kevin Correia could get the start.
Correia pitched two innings last night, so he wouldn’t be able to go deep in to the game. McPherson or Wilson could pick up those innings, if the club decided to go with Correia, per Kristy’s sources.
More information as it becomes available.

Not sure if this was posted yet, but according to Pirates.com Correia was sent back to the bullpen yesterday: http://pittsburgh.pirates.mlb.com/news/ ... t#36970822Quote: Bucs' rotation down to five as Correia moved to 'pen ST. LOUIS -- The Pirates, on Sunday morning, announced the contraction of their rotation back to five men, not news to any sharp-eyed people who spotted Kevin Correia in Busch Stadium's bullpen on Saturday.
Manager Clint Hurdle had informed Correia of the move prior to Saturday's game, and he was available in relief.
Without Correia, who would have been in line to start Monday night's opener of a three-game series in San Diego, the other starters are simply being moved up: Wandy Rodriguez goes Monday, followed by A.J. Burnett and James McDonald.
This marks the reunion in the rotation of Burnett and McDonald, which could be a positive development. Until they were split up coming out of the All-Star break, the two right-handers followed each other for the last six weeks of the first half. The Pirates have an overall record of 16-4 with Burnett and McDonald starting back-to-back.
Correia was resigned to being bumped from the rotation for the second time in a month. He originally was removed to accommodate Rodriguez's arrival from Houston. Since that July 25 trade, Correia has pitched three times, once in relief and twice as a spot starter.
"We talked about things in life," said Hurdle, trying to characterize his latest talk with Correia. "You may not like how things are, but you just need to perform. He's been with the club all year -- he's one of the reasons we got the wins we've gotten -- and he wants to continue to help. I told him, 'Stay focused. Stay sharp. Pitch in where you're needed.'"
Of course, this was written prior to yesterday's game.

Just go against type for once Clint, and trust the rookie.
Give the ball to Wilson- starter by committee usually does not end well.

BTW, I have decided that for now, I have to keep rocking the Bad News Bears avatar. Since I started displaying it, the Pirates have outscored their opponents 7-3.

Frankly, I don't understand why they're considering Correia as tonight's starter. He pitched two innings yesterday, making it unlikely he'll be able to make it even five innings vs SD. Just keep him in the pen.
The starter should be Wilson or McPherson. Wilson has better strikeout stuff. McPherson has better control. Either one gets the tremendous benefit of pitching at massive Petco against a shitty team for their MLB debut.

Piratesprospects.com is now reporting that Correia will get the start, and that the Bucs have DFA'd Juan Cruz.
I question the former and dance a jig for the latter.

Starting Correia continues to weaken the bullpen in the immediate future and is dumb.
