So the Pens went and got something for him rather than lose him for nothing. I don't know the players yet, so I can't evaluate the deal, but this was pretty much inevitable.

Sorry to see him go but can't really blame him for wanting a bigger role (and to team up with his bro). Will be interesting to look back on this trade in a few years time.

I won't miss him. I stand by my statement that JS is one of the most overrated players in professional hockey. Amazing how talented you look when you often share ice time with arguably 2 of the top 5 hockey players on the planet.
Watch JS during the first few games against Philly in this year's playoffs and you will see what I mean. The dude has talent, but it is overshadowed by his complete lack of effort on the back-check and in the defensive zone. He pretty much stops trying when he is asked to step up on defense.
Have a nice time in Carolina, fuck face.

Anti-Staal statements are pretty sad, in my opinion. Heaven forbid a guy wants a bigger role than he can get in Pittsburgh. What an asshole!

Staal was a good player who came up big in big games.
Staal wishes he was Zach Parise. I'd rather spend 6 million a year on THAT.
