Jeff Karstens shot his wad in 2011 :(

Our battery is so piss poor at holding runners and putting a tag down that a catcher just easily stole second....That is No.1 / they could set a series record before this one is over.

The Pirates have been abysmal at protecting 2nd base and throwing out runners for years now. Ryan Doumit was awful. Snyder wasn't much better. I'm really surprised teams dont run on them more often.

Karstens is batting practice fodder tonight. Bucs need to stay close enough to make the phillies bullpen factor into this game.

Game fucking over.

You're welcome, Philly. A little confidence-restoration courtesy of the Pirates.

Um I think I might be spot on regarding Karstens

He simply does not have the body or strength of a MLB pitcher and now that he is broken down physically he simply can not compete :(

On a good note: the Bucs' pitchers gave up 5 total runs against the Tigers over the weekend series.

The Tigers just scored 5 runs in their first inning against the Rangers.
