we get a big run in the 6th, and then hand one right back to them on 2 errors -- and they may score another with man on 3rd and only 1 out -- Hope Resop can get out of it w/o surrendering another
But damn, seems like it's not our night

Absolutely glad to see the club not give up. Wish Neil's first shot to center had made it over the wall, though. Might have made things different, even though it would have only been one run at that time. I think prior to this game, if we scored 4+ runs, we won the game.
We have a lot of fight in us. That's heartening. We may have run into a meat grinder here and a bad storm. O's are as hot a team as we have been, and we are facing them with the weakest part of our rotation--Lincoln and now Correia.
Hurdle, after the game, said that Lincoln needs to pitch better, he can be taken out of the rotation any time. Time is now. He's pitched pretty much like shit the last two starts. A team in contention can't afford to have to score more than 6 runs to win every 5 starts. Maybe there is someone else, either in the pen, or down in AAA, who can be granted an opportunity next, and we hope Lincoln can get his head right and be effective out of the pen in middle relief as he had been previously. We need him back in that role while we try out someone else as a spot starter.

Starting Brad at all last night is one of the most indicative reasons why we haven't won a World Series in 33 years He should have never been moved into a starting role period. Rudy Owens and Locke are both ready to get their shot and we made our team exponentially weaker by removing our best long man from the pen. Until there is someone who isn't asleep at the wheel when it comes to personnel decisions of this ilk it will matter not how much "fight" the club makes on the field. It is about the Jimmy's and Joe's and our current collection is a joke compared to the power teams in baseball. If NH doesn't make multiple moves to acquire a legitimate power bat and SS production this team will look as bad as last year's collapse if not worse down the stretch.
