Tabata sucks as the number 2 hitter, and Pedro is looking more comfortable at the bat. His BA is putrid, but he's hitting the ball, and he's our leading HR hitter.

Move Walker to number 2, Pedro to 4, and Tabata to 6.

I agree too.

I would like to see the following:

VS RHP:
CF - Cutch - he is our best hitter by far and our hitting sucks so bad - I would like to see our best hitter get as many AB's as possible.
LF - Presley - I like a lefty in the 2 hole anyways
1B - McGehee
3B - Alvarez
2B - Walker
RF - Jones
SS - Barmes - I give this guy about 50 games and if he still sucks - time to bring up DarNaud or try Harrison at SS
C - Barajas - I think he is going to respond sooner than later - if not - they are kind of screwed
P

VS LHP
CF - Cutch
LF - Presley
1B - McGehee
3B - Alvarez
2B - Walker
RF - Tabata
SS - Barmes
C - Barajas

Gotta disagree about Pedro....platoon him.

Cleanup hitter gets too many at bats; Pedro should stay near the bottom of the order against righties.

He is going to languish at the bottom with out competent bats around him. I don't like him at 4 right now either but it may be what they have to do. I put together a post last week that had him hitting 6th but that involves dropping Cutch to cleanup and Presley to 5th. The theory is he should see better pitches with speed on the bases and it opens up a bigger hole for him on the right side of the infield. I'd still sit him against most lefties.

Agree with putting Pedro at cleanup. If the team demonstrates confidence in him, his bat may just finally fucking wake up. It's a gamble, but it's gotta be done.

It is a gamble, but one I think we should probably take. Go all the way or not at all. Don't fuck around.

Suwannee, agree with your comments about Barmes and Barajas. I have yet to see what Barmes brings to the party for us this year. Barajas, I agree, it's a little too soon to judge that one. It's good to have a veteran catcher behind the plate though.

There isn't much risk with the way Tabata is hitting now.

There's no risk to try this, period.

This team simply ain't gonna be winning many games with the hitting the way it is...so they have nothing to lose.

I'm tired of this midset of risking just enough not to lose so many games that the fanbase goes away permanently.

It's why we're looking at losing season #20.

Problem is, Jeems, that tends to be the mentality of the FO. Nervous nellies.

We'll see what happens.
