I know we're supposed to hate the Caps, but the combo of....
*Rooting for the Caps against the Bruins
*Tortorella being a dick, particularly his late-season comments about the Pens as an organization, Sid & Malkin
*Kind of liking Dale Hunter as a coach

....have had me rooting for them to beat the Rangers. Was kind of pissed they lost tonight.

Waddayinzthink?

It's weird and I really can't pinpoint it but I don't hate the Caps as much as I did last year. Maybe it was Fat Saucy Face Bodreu being gone. Or maybe it was because Ovie is starting to play both ends/blocking shots like a Captain is supposed to. And you mentioned Hunter...well I still think he was an asshole for the Turgeron hit...completely gutless manuever....but he's got them playing and I consider the Caps a major threat to the Pens next year.

As for the Rangers, outside of Torterella I don't mind anyone else since Avery is gone. I love Callahan...think he's an awesome player. Anisemov is really talented and how about Fedetanko, he's playing like he did for us 3 years ago

And even though he's a dick, Torterella's pressers are something to look forward to, precisely because he's a dick....different, but rivals Belichick's pressers in defeat. And....being a PEI property owner, I like Brad Richards as well.

I don't think i'd mind the Caps winning the conference, aside from many of their fans that is. At this point Ovie has been publicly exposed and humbled. His coach keeps him off the ice when the team has a lead much of the time, and only calls his number when they need a goal. He had zero shots on goal in that last game. Ovie and the false worship as far as his overall game was the biggest reason I never wanted them to win in recent years but now everyone knows he's a one trick pony. And praise for any success would be spread far more evenly across the team these days.

That said, I want the Kings to win the Cup just to rub a little more salt in Philly's wounds in seeing Richards and Carter lift the Cup.
