Doesn't look like AJ has anything tonight. Might have to tap that pen early tonight.

Why were Barajas and Hurdle tossed for arguing balls and strikes? Were Aj's problems really just related to a shitty umpire? Just curious if anyone saw the game and noticed if the umpire was really that bad, and that's why AJ got crushed, or if AJ just sucked.

A.J. wasn't getting the same zone as Lynn. Umpiring has been horrible to the Bucs this whole series, it just came to a head last night.

I for one was happy to see Barajas go to bat for his pitcher. If Barajas has brought one thing it seems to be the trust of the rotation. All the pitchers really seem to respect him.

Burnett gave up 4 runs on 6 pitches to start the game last night. Hardly enough time for the ump to become a factor. I can't disagree about the umpiring in this series so far, but A.J was very bad last night!

No, that wasn't the reason for A.J. struggling. I was just saying why Rod had enough.

I was glad to see that too. AJ struggled without that, but it didn't help and it was nice to see both the Manager and the Catcher get fired up and get tossed.

You guys do realize that those are the defending World Champs, and they are the real deal?

And they are showing you the difference between the World Champs and...well...the Pirates?

Gee Jeemie, what the fuck would we do without you?

Hey, that thought brightens things up a little...

Well- if you listened to me, you'd be more on an even keel when it comes to this team...

Seriously- the gap between the Cards and the Pirates is huge- I take nothing from these two games that indicates the team is ready to fall apart.

I actually agree with this. At this point in the season, the Cards are playing like the World champs. We're a team that hasn't sniffed the playoffs in over 19 seasons, and we have sniffed first place in a division somewhat late in a season twice during that span. It's what it is.

Later on, we'll talk. I believe the Pirates are going to grow this year rather than be strong early and fade, could be the reverse, but we'll see. If the Cards keep looking like they do now though the division will be a lock for them. Long season. Lot can happen.
