Makes sense to let him get his feet wet in pro ball in the the florida warmth instead of risking bad weather in the eastern league. Plus you have much of the development staff still in Bradenton for extended spring training. I expect he'll advance to Altoona in June or July.

They probably want to maximize his time with Taillon though so they probably aren't in that much of a hurry.

Yeah, but the Bucs would likely be conservative if for no other reason than they don't want to start the clock on his major league service time. So even if he looks ready I'd expect him not to make the team out of camp.
