Against the Phillies. Trailing 1-0 in the 3rd. Just stumbled on it myself...no details.

Watching it now on MLB ....Marte just hit a laser beam to left that never got above 25 ft on its way out He may be the best trade bait we have to bring a lefty of substance into the fold Sanchez at the plate now...he looks out of shape to me for a prospect his age and appears to be diving at the ball rather than hitting the inside of the ball...short to and long through

We're gonna need him to be our everyday left fielder.

Got home too late to watch it, but thanks, Shoes, and thanks Ironzabo for the analysis.
Marte is looking good, eh? I hope so. I'm afraid Sancheez might be just that, unfortunately. I've been willing to grant benefit of the doubt, but nothing I've seen so far suggests otherwise, and it seems to continue.

I like Presley but he doesn't have a major league arm. Some parks are kind to left fielders with noodle arms but PNC park is not one of them. And as a RF Presley's arm is woefully inadequate. They'd be giving up 3rd base way too often. Presley just doesn't have the upside that Marte does. Best case scenario is Marte proves over the next few months that he is major league ready and Presley continues to hit this season. Presley would then be the guy I'd look to trade.

Couldn't agree more. If the Pirates can turn Nate f'n McLouth into legitimate Major League players, they can get decent prospects for Presley, maybe more if he hits well again.

anyone else worried that the pirates are using up all their runs in meaningless preseason games? every time i see one of their scores or watch them play they're in double digits.

Not worried at all, just hopeful we'll see more of the same once the games count.
