Kunitz fits really nicely with them, too. Made me start thinking tonight about who Crosby would play with if he were to come back. Kunitz and Crosby play great together, so they probably stay together. I'd like to see Sullivan play with Crosby, so that would set that up. But then, who to put with Malkin and Neal becomes the question, and I'd have to settle on Matt Cooke. He could completely play the Kunitz role (defensively responsible, puck retrieval) on that line just fine.

I took umbrage (had NYR announcers) when Sam Rosen said that Malkin had really elevated his game this year, and that we was something less in the past. Nah. Malkin is the old, pre-injury Malkin. It's nothing new (well, maybe the defensive responsibility part and most notably this season his faceoff skills).

Get Staalsy healthy and this team can make a deep run with or without 87 8-)

Love to see them drop the hammer on Max P and the Habs tomorrow night at Consol on the quick turnaround

The thing that Malkin had been really impressing me with is his passing. He's always had that ability to go into what I call "Pissed-Off Russian Mode" and score at will. But I don't remember him being such a willing and able passer (which is why I felt Neal would work better with Crosby). He's shown flashes of it, for sure. But never to the extent he's shown this season. I feel like Neal has really unlocked all of Malkin's potential this year.

Cooke has proven with his actions that it is possible for players to change their approach to the game to make the game safer. He is a shining example that thoughtfulness can actually win out over the heat-of-the-moment desire to absolutely destroy an opponent no matter the ramifications.

Then he goes out and slewfoots Richards.

4 in a row, team is streaky and playing a tad better on the road lately. Bringing it home this Sunday boys, keep it rolling!

Wonder if anyone will challenge Pacioretty and make him answer the bell.

I sure as hell hope so. Assuming Asham's out, maybe TK, Adams, or Engel?

I have tickets to Sunday's game against the Caps. A week ago, I was worried that I basically paid $300 for glorified AHL tickets. Now that we're back on a roll, I'm excited. This will be the first game I've ever attended at Consol.

Crosby, I hope you have a great time man! Give 'em hell, make lots of noise, and let's go, Pens!!! Gotta get the home ice back into our equation! Let's make it FIVE tonight and SIX on Sunday! (sorry forgot we play tonight, duh!) :)
