.....I'm bored.

.....I'm really bored.

2013 Free Agents:
RB Jonathon Dwyer(RFA)- tendered for original amount
RB Rashard Mendenhall- resigned for good C2
WR Emmanuel Sanders(RFA)- 1st Round tender
WR Antonio Brown(RFA)- 1st Round tender
WR Mike Wallace- given the big bucks
TE Heath Miller- resigned for decent C3
OG Ramon Foster- given backup deal
OC Doug Legursky- given backup deal
NT Casey Hampton- let go
LB Stevenson Sylvester(RFA)- tendered for original amount
LB Larry Foote- let go
CB Keenan Lewis- given backup deal
DB Ryan Mundy- given backup deal
DB Will Allen- won't make it past 2012 camp

Parameters:
1. Steelers follow above free agency plan.
2. Steelers draft 32nd.
3. Steelers gain 5th round compensation pick for the loss of CB William Gay.

Selections:
1. ILB Shane Skov, Stanford
Skov is the perfect ILB for the Steelers. He can run, hit, cover, and rush the passer. He can become the next buck in our defense, helping to anchor the middle for the next decade.

2. OLB Jacques Smith, Tennessee*
I'm going to say that this guy is going to be one my favorite targets for the 2013. He is strong and a relentless pass rusher. Has a great build and I think could be a demon at OLB. With Harrison aging getting more talented edge rushers is a must.

3. RB Michael Dyer, Arkansas State*
The once former Auburn Tiger transferred to Arkansas State due to a violation of team rules which ultimately resulted in Dyer losing his scholarship. Despite these facts, Dyer is one of the most talented runners in the nation and the Steelers would be lucky to get someone of his talent.

4. CB Desmond Trufant, Washington
Trufant is a do it all CB: he can cover both the slot and boundary, and is no slouch in run support. Gives the Steelers a talented guy behind the current young guys on the roster.

5a. DB Prentiss Waggner, Tennessee
Waggner is a talented ball hawk who has a real knack for making plays on the ball.

5b. QB Mike Glennon, North Carolina State
Glennon is another one of my favorite prospects. He has the size, arm, and talent and compares well to Matt Ryan.

6. OT Dallas Thomas, Tennessee
Thomas is a good candidate to become a swing tackle for the Steelers. He is athletic and can play either spot.

7. PK Caleb Sturgis, Florida
Sturgis may not last this long, but only one kicker was drafted in this past draft.

pass rusher.

our defense needs pressure, and Harrison is not a spring chicken anymore. We need to load up on pass rushers and pray like mad that one of them hits

So Jason Worilds and Chris Carter are both bums?

Wood is signed long term.
Harrison IMO has at least 2 years left

Washington has tools that can not be coached...He is a fucking freak athlete.

dunno if they're bums or not. I'd love it if Deebo has 2 years. He's a monster. I'm not confident that Worilds or Carter can match that, or even come close. Hopefully I have shit on my face after they both blow up and get 10 sacks apiece. I'd be pleased.

damn...6'4 268 and fast? DUIs....ugh...what's with kids these days...

I think the Steelers might blow our minds and take a QB in the first three rounds next year.

Other than that, ILB, FS, pass-rusher (can never have enough), CB (can never have enough bodies), possible #1 TE is Miller is to be lowballed or ditched. RB a possibility, depending on how it shakes out.

Next year would be a great year to package picks and move up. Four picks in the first 100 would be a good thing next year.

If Foote has a good season - I can see them resigning him.

At this time, I don't think Jacques Smith is a 2nd round talent. He has not yet truly blossomed as a pass rusher and hasn't yet developed into a guy that makes an impact on a daily basis. I'm not sure if he's even going to start in TN's new 3-4 defense. With TN switching, though, I think in future years we may start seeing more Vols in play for the Steelers defensive needs in the drafts.

Waggner is a very good player, in the pros he's one of those CB/FS hybrid types. Really fits the Steelers' scheme. His measurables don't adequate reflect the caliber of athlete or player he is, although he is not blindingly fast (for a DB) by any standard. Great ball skills, great knack for making plays.
