While I like OT Jeff Allen [he can play guard] I personally would not take him there. Too much of a reach IMO. I think Donald Stephenson is a better prospect at OT for us and Stephenson can be had in the 3rd RND. IMO

Not sure about the Thompson pick. Does he even fit what the Steelers do on defense? Seems to me he'd be a better fit [inside] in a 43 scheme defense. May not even make it out of the 2nd RND either.

Hensely has a point. Since the Hightower pick makes so much sense for the Steelers to take I bet they take someone else too.

DeCastro at 21 to the Bungles…If that is the case and he falls that far I would love to see the Steelers jump up 4 to 5 spots to get him. Don’t think they will but just saying.

Damnit the Bengals are going to be good in a couple of years unless they totally fuck things up

Deebo, I remember thinking the same thing a few years ago when they drafted David Pollack....He could have been a really good player, but a neck injury ended his career before it ever really started...so, you just never know. I don't know if it's been good luck or good drafting, but not only have our number i picks been really good, they've been very healthy, too.

I predict Dalton will have a sophomore slump. Bengals have nice pieces but like every team in AFC also huge holes. MLB, WR opposite Green another. RB, they could use a decent guard, and safety. Just imagien how good Bengals could have been if they still had Justin Smith. Guy has been best 3-4 (yes I know Bengals play 4-3) DE in league by a wide margin for last 3 seasons and maybe more.

Jeff Allen is far from a reach.

HE IS THE BEST PASS BLOCKER IN THIS ENTIRE DRAFT

I think we have a better chance to get Thompson in the second...

I'm fine with those first two picks, with actually less question about Allen than I have about Hightower at 1.24. In the 3rd, somebody like Childs at WR, a falling pass-rusher or safety prospect would interest me, and this also feels like where Tomlin might go for the running back he's hinted at. Even staying with DT, a prospect like T'aamu seems more intriguing.

If I had to guess, It would be something like this...

R1- Ta'amu/Worthy
R2- Allen
R3- Pead

Or, in crazy fantasy land...

R1- DeCastro (not going to happen, but the experts seem to think he might be there this late)
R2- James
R3- Poe/Hicks

I think any way you slice it, the Steelers are going to add an interior DL and an RB in the first 3 rounds of the draft. So that means you're dealing with who are they, and what's left to take an OL with...

I view Jeff Allen like I viewed Mychael Kendricks. I loved both of them when they were projected 4th rounders a few months ago. I have my questions about taking either in round 2. Allen is a good pass blocker, but he's a bit short, has a bad body, and isn't as physical a run blocker as I'd like to see if you slide him inside to guard. Where do you play him in the NFL is my question? I'm not sure he's got the feet or the length to stay at LT in the NFL, and I don't know if he can be physical enough to block in-line and play guard. I see the potential there, and like him as a mid round guy, but round 2 is a bit rich for me on him. FC and B2B disagreed on the podcast.
