Jeremy Jones - CB/S 5'10 195. Had 9 INT's last year and 106 tackles. 20 reps at the combine and ran a 4.56 40.

Ok,
I'm calling shennanigans on Colbert at this point. Previous years we've brought in guys that...made plenty of sense for us to bring in. Handful of players at positions of need who might be available at our 1st pick, guys at need positions up and down the board, etc.
This year, we need:
NT. Hampton has ACL torn and his backup retired. ILB (Run stopping). I doubt I have to convince anyone of this. OG. Or this. CB. Ike's 32 and the rest of our roster has a combined 1 career start at CB. S. Our starters are in their 30s and both have injury histories.
We've brought in: 1 NT, who is like 30 years old. 1 run stopping ILB, who no one thinks can handle the coverage duties associated with ILBs in our system. 2 OGs, who won't be value at our 1st pick and will likely be gone by our 2nd. No Glenn, no Zeitler, no Osemele. 0 CBs that are likely to be drafted in the first five rounds. 0 safeties that are likely to be drafted in the first five rounds.
We tend to target especially young players in the first couple rounds; have we brought in any true juniors that are likely to go early?

I don't think the Steelers brought in anyone they don't have legit interest in. They brought in a bunch of late round types because they have 5 picks from at slot 194 or later and only one pick in the top 32. NT - Maybe they like McClendon more than we think, or they don't value the position that much. We'll see what they do on draft day. ILB - They brought the only legit 1st round pick at the position in for a visit. (Kuechly should be long gone) Colbert said this was a thin group. OL - Silatolu, Massie, and Brooks could all be 2nd round targets. Aside from Zeitler, they covered all of the obvious bases here. CB - they took three of them early in the past few years. It's time for those guys to play. I'd imagine they are only looking for a 5th guy for depth at this point.

I think the dominant thought of this board of what our needs are is pretty off base.
i think it's more like: LG Big receiving targets nickel/slot CB RB with speed developmental ILB DL with position flexibility S with cover skills developmental LT developmental QB
This list of visits pretty much reflects that.

The obvious best choice had plenty of film at the Sr Bowl and you could interview him (or access that file) at the Combine. We don't need a run-stopping ILB, we need an ILB with wheels. Larry Foote can fill OK, he can't run with a TE, which is what Farrior could do before the final couple years of his career. Pretty deep at CB talent - it's just not proven. You can't improve that through the draft... Safety- agree with you there.

I just can't buy the ILB thing in round 1. I'd go:
LG OT
Then ILB/FS/NT as relatively equal needs
