Never got it with him...People in Columbus have been disipointed in him. He is a weak underachiver that I do not want in Black & Gold we have enough of him already he is not elite... You don't have to worry, it will be Poe or Hightower in the first it could have been Glenn but he won't be available. Glenn impressed me. Adams disappointed. I have big questions about Poe. If we're going to spend a first on Poe, he's going to be expected to be the anchor of the defense for years to come. I haven't seen any signficant film from him to demonstrate he can be that guy. Sure, he's big and very strong, has some nice mobility - but is he the relentless monster that forces all sorts of attention like Mean Joe and Casey did during their primes? I simply don't know. Not all that much info out there. That's why I see the Steelers going NT next season where the class is supposedly much deeper. I expected Adams to disappoint...IMO it is his MO I would rather trade out of the first before taking him.

He's the same size as Ta'amu and never dominated, even once during his career. He also has stubby arms. No. Aren't all of their stats inflated? Let's see him in the drills.

I also like Ta'amu
1. Hightower 2. Ta'amu
1. Poe 2. Osemele
Either one would make me happy.

My thoughts on Mike Adams haven't changed a bit. The guy has elite length and very quick feet. He was outstanding at the slide and mirror drill, and that is where he'll make his money in the NFL. He's not a great bender or drive blocker in the run game, but he can be as good as anyone protecting the blindside. I'd feel comfortable if my team spent a mid 1st round pick on him. The Steelers won't touch him because they feel set at OT with Gilbert and the other guy.
On a side note, did anyone catch the Donta Hightower interview? He said he met with Keith Butler and follows Woodley and Harrison. He also has an interview set up with the Steelers and is looking forward to meeting Mike Tomlin. He also mentioned the Ravens showing interest and said Ray Lewis is one of his idols. I pretty much have had him penciled in for the Steelers for a couple of months now. I think they only way it doesn't happen is if the Ravens trade up and take him in front of us. Ozzie Newsome does have that Alabama connection to look out for.

Akiem Hicks (6'5 318 35 1/8" arms) He's someone real raw and prolly take a year or two to develope and could be had in the late rounds. I think he's worth a pick in the 5th - 6th round. I'll be a little more informed once we see them in drills. I agree with the sarge. Poe hasn't really stood out to me. I wouldn't use our first round pick on him when we can get as good a quality in later rounds. JMO

LADARIUS GREEN 6' 6" 240lbs 34 1/2" arms 10 1/8" hands
Green has body control that allows him to leap, torque, and reach both high and low for poorly thrown balls, making him the type of red zone option, at his height, where an NFL QB can just throw it up to him.

Hightower would be redundant with David Harris. If there was one player in the NFL I'd compare Hightower to it'd be Harris. I think the Jets have been rumored to possibly cut Bart Scott, but even if they do they have bigger needs than ILB.
I can't see any of the 4-3 teams taking Hightower, and that basically leaves the Jets and Chargers as possible landing spots before we pick. I don't see the Jets going there, and the Chargers need help on the O-line more than they need an ILB.

I think Hightower will be there at 24 unless someone trades in front of the Steelers to get him.
My bet is its either Hightower or Poe in the first. I'd be happy with either.
The Steelers are usually spot on when it comes to selecting a first rounder so who ever they select you gotta trust them.
Hightower Ta'amu Bergstrom Nix
That would a great top 4 in my book, or go with
Poe Cole Solitou Nix
