I think these alleged experts are in for an old fashioned school of hard knocks education. This time of year I can always count on a good laugh at the drivel these dipshits spew.
I view the rats defense suffering this season without suggs. The dude was an absolute beast last season no doubt. Suggs absences will account for some drop off, period. Lewis is using a walker in the middle of their defense and IMO this is the year lewis gets exposed for the old man he has become.
Then behind lewis you have reed who is allegedly contemplating retirement. May mean absolutely nothing but then again it could be a tell tale sign of reed's impending exit from football. Who knows for sure? /reed/
Then the rats have two offensive players looking to get paid. fluke-o and rice are both anticipating their paper. Rice seems disgruntled and that could cause him to miss more time which will cost him and the rats on the field.
Like I tell everyone. "We'll see how the Steelers season unfolds" because predictions at this point are just homer expectations in disguise.
I also love the idea of the Steelers playing the underdog role. Other team fans are always disappointed when December arrives and Pittsburgh is running strong on all cylinders.

USS Steelerworks wrote: Baltimore's early season schedule before the bye is pretty tough and really doesn't bode well for them getting off to a good start. At Philly and at Houston are no sure bets. And home games against Cincy, New England and Dallas could all very well be losses especially if they can't generate a pass rush with no Suggs. I have the Ravens pegged to go 2-5 to start the season and finish 9-7 just out of the postseason.
As far as Cincy goes. They are the exact opposite of the Ravens. Their early season schedule is a downright joke. After the Balimore game in the opener their next 5 opponents are Cleveland, Washington, Jacksonville, Miami and Cleveland again. After that they play us and their schedule looks to significantly toughen up, but I think they'll get off to a fast start and that week 7 matchup at Heinz is going to be a big game. I like your predictions and hope the Rats start off that ugly. However somehow I think they come out 4-3 guess we'll see. Either way the more they lose the better off we'll be! I believe you are right on for the Cincy prediction. But that week 7 matchup is in Cincy NOT at Heinz. Still makes it a BIG game but definitely one where we need to stop their momentum.

Preston is a binary tool (all one or all the other). He changes from week to week on Ravens. I cant abide him. The only reasonable and sane outlook on that team comes from their play by play guy Gerry Sandusky (poor bastard with that name). He actually highlights weakness, such as: how team struggled without Grubbs. Suggs monumental impact not just individually but in aiding every facet of the D. How JJ held the point against the run as well as anyone in the league and to dismiss his loss is frankly silly. The entire Sun staff lives in la la land but if you want true twilight zone nonsense go read Baltimore Beatdown for 5 minutes.

I say let them talk up the Ravens and Bengals. They can talk, we'll get it done on the field.

While the reasoning to support the writer's arguements can be viewed as flawed, the Rats took both games against us last year.
And yet the whole offseason we talked about the same things on this BB: Reed is close to retirement, Lewis is a pile jumper, Flacco isn't elite, and their WR's suck. They then proceeded to stomp our asses in the opener. You don't have to like your opponent, but you better respect them...
Historically we split with Baltimore and I expect it to be the case again.

But Donnnie Brasco's points are valid. In order to be the man, you have to beat the man. And right now, they're the man. FWIW, that fake extra point in the opener still burns my arse!

Steelers D let them drive 90+ yards right down the field for the winning score.
