I understand some viewing this was a hint of skepticism.
You get better at something by work...It's a fact.
Ziggy is working...I would prefer to see a violent hand fighting/Greco Grappling work then Drag the weights....The man is still working his craft.
He now must learn to work smart...The Box drills and dead lifts will work his explosive ability I like it.
Hood is a hard worker..He must learn to beat blocks...Most important aspect of defensive football

I get the impression that beating your blocks and attacking the QB is not encouraged, but tackling a runner is. how close am I?

Very proud of the kid.
Hard work normally pays off and Hood is putting some serious work in.
Being that he's already a highly skilled lineman, I expect he'll be a very different player in 2012.

Aaron Smith sure beat his share of blocks. He was unblockable in his prime. Ziggy has the pedigree and work ethic to match that, I just hope he realizes his potential.

Might just be the case that Ziggy realized how much better he had to get and took steps to do just that. We could really use an improved Ziggy and I have high hopes that Heyward is going to have a breakout level season for us (could be wrong of course..but I love Heyward) I think most of us were pretty disappointed in Hood last year and I am sure he heard it from the coaches. I am very excited overall about the D-line and the possibilities with the incumbent and new talent available. It's going to be an interesting training camp which I can't wait to start..I was almost set to take a trip to Latrobe this year but it fell apart. I have never been but its definately on my bucket list.

Kiesel had obvious pass rushing skills but it took a while before he became a full time starter.

Except Smith and Keisel were drafted in the 4th and 7th, respectively.
I am a big Ziggy Hood fan -- or at least a fan of what I think he could be, based on the flashes he's shown. He's coming into his third year. It takes the young guys a few years sometimes. I think this will be his year, and I really appreciate how hard he's worked.

Beating blocks is the most important aspect of front 7 football.
Beating blocks doesn't mean flying up field like a chicken with your head cut off.
Beat the block...Find the ball.
People will dig up quotes...The Dline is paid to occupy blockers..The Dline is paid to beat blockers
