dude madden is the best and a SUPERGENIUS. Guy gets a 14 rating or something like that.. I haven't looked at arbitron ratings for a long time but I would be willing to bet that's one of the top ratings in the pittsburgh market. Go listen to the clowns on 93.7 the fan.. if you don't like madden.

This is in jest, right? I know you claim to be buddies or whatever, but there's no way anyone can legitimately call him "super genius." I listen to good radio, for which none of the above qualifies. Madden should stick to wrestling and donuts, and just leave football alone...he's fucking clueless.

Madden got off on the wrong foot with me. I remember when he just started his radio show was the time when Woodson was in a contract dispute and about to leave the Steelers. Woodson was my absolute favorite player at the time, and Madden comes on and calls Woodson a bum and says how we should just get rid of him. Pissed me right off. I no longer live in Pittsburgh, but I was there for a number of years, and Madden gave me plenty of reasons to hate him during that time. I decided there were two possibilities:

1) Madden is really a douche
2) Madden is really a nice guy but just plays a douche on the radio

But practically speaking, 2) is the same as 1) for me. If I have to hear him pretending to be a douche, he's as good as a douche.

I might even call him a fat fuck.

One of my very good friends is named Mark Madden, so this thread threw me for a loop for a minute.

Smart guys on the radio Like Howard Stern or Madden know there job is to be entertaining. Clowns on 93.7 the fan don't get it for example. That said Madden is no steeler ball washer like just about everyone else in the media in Pittsburgh. That's why many of you don't like him.. He doesn't say all the warm and fuzzys about the steelers many of you like some don't like him fighting with Hines Ward or Franco Harris or calling the Rooney's out for there lack of community activity or calling the Rooney's out for being hypocrites for how they handled situations in recent history. Madden get's what it takes to get ratings most don't

Madden is often unduly negative toward the Steelers as you are. I can see why you like him. There have been plenty of local Pittsburgh radio guys that I have liked. They criticized the Steelers when it was warranted. I don't need Madden's schtick, which you seem to find entertaining.

Madden is just as knowledgeable as most of the guys in the Pittsburgh media, he is just a loud mouth ass. That's his job though, and that's why he pulls the best ratings in the Burgh. It's about making money, nothing else.
