Somehow fitting on Memorial Day. Though The Rock made it back, he nearly didn't. And for him to come back after suffering what he did in defense of our country is nothing short of miraculous. The Rock had many great moments for our team and many great achievements, but I'll never forget his final home game against the Chiefs. At a point in the season where it looked pretty bleak, The Rock stepped up, as he always did, and led us to victory, scoring on an 11 yard TD run to key us to a come from behind victory.
This is an interesting clip, a lot of behind the scenes and rough, homemade stuff, but it's fun to remember those halcyon days. God Bless Rocky Bleier and God Bless all those who have served our country and fought for our freedom with honor.

The clip reminds me of a J.J. Abrams production. Half expecting a giant alien to fall out of the sky & a building to explode.
Love those older videos from a fans perspective. Awesome game, too!

Love the clip, MeanJoe. Great find. For anyone who hasn't read Rocky's book, you should. Amazing what he had to overcome. Of all the things you can love the Chief for, his sticking with Rocky during that time epitomizes what he was all about. Thanks and God Bless to the Rock for his service.

What the hell was Mel Blount doing covering kickoffs?? By 1980 he had 3 first team all pro selections and a Defensive MVP award.

Good stuff. I have met him a couple times at business functions and was able to talk with him for about 15 mins. Classy guy. My only retro jersey is Rocky.

If you haven't read Rocky's book, Fighting Back, do yourself a favor and pick up a copy. I've read it three times since high school. IMO, it's required reading for any Pittsburgh sports fan. Hell, any sports fan.
