I constantly hear the complaint Timmons struggles to shed blocks. My question is which MLber playing right now sheds blocks consistently?
Willis & Bowman have an excellent and underrated dline led by my favorite non-steeler Justin Smith Ray Ray has Cody & Ngata Cushing has an outstanding & young dline Harris has a big & underrated dline Jackson had Phil Taylor The vastly overrated Mayo has Wilfork Farrior had Hamps & one amazing season from Hokie
Not to suggest any of the above cant shed blocks, it just seems like an overused/outdated theme to me and without biguns up front covering them up I truly wonder which MLB would still consistently make plays?

Its outdated as washing your hands after a shit.
Its the most important aspect of defensive football.
Beating blocks goes way beyond the play of linebackers.

Beating blocks goes way beyond the play of linebackers. I am aware of above thanks. I asked for an example of a MLBer that continually sheds blocks to make plays.

Cushing, Beason, Willis, Harris, and Posz have all been extremely good at getting off blocks to make plays. David hawthorne is another (Seattle) along with Stephen Tulloch. All do this to varying degrees, some better than others, but most better than Timmons. Timmons is a lot better at running around or past blockers than most

LB's beat OL with instincts, speed, and leverage. Its about getting to the spot first and using proper technique
anyone who thinks a 240 LB is going to hulk slam a 330 lb OG is only fooling themselves

No matter who you are.

No matter who you are. i would say this about sums it up, lbs can scrape off of blocks and still make the play but if OL gets a clean shot at the lb and lines him up the lb has no chance 90% of the time, those guys and just too big and too strong to be shedding aside, there are no levon kirklands in the nfl that i have seen in a long time, DL is very important to the lbs success and our DL had a down year last year, timmons was great in 2010 and the DL played great that year
