Ramon Foster may have been the least stinky turd in a pile of shit, but he is a stinky turd, nonetheless!
The move of Willie Colon to LG opens the door for Foster's departure. Ramon Foster's days as a Pittsburgh Steelers are numbered. And that is a good thing...a VERY good thing!
"Hello, my name is Ramon...welcome to Wal-Mart!"
We've paid worse players more money to back-up.
Why in the world would they want to boot a guy who can give us quality depth at G and possibly play RT if needed?
You mean other than that fact that he isn't very good?
The biggest problem with the Steelers O-line the past several season was that in Kemo and Foster, they had quite possibly the worst set of guards, talent wise, in league history. Fat, slow, and stupid simply doesn't work in the NFL any more. Look around the league at some of the better O-line units, you will see for the most part that they are made up of big men, fit men, intelligent men, mobile men. Now look at the units the Steelers have been running out there recently. You'll see beer guts and jelly rolls.
Last training camp and pre-season, the coaching staff tried every warm body they could find to replace Foster. That tells me that they realize that he is not an NFL caliber player, and the fact that he emerged as the "best of the worst" doesn't make him any more than what he is.
Now look at what the Steelers have done in the past couple/3 drafts with regards to the offensive line...choosing mobile, intelligent players! That's the trend of the league, and that is the direction the Steelers offense is moving. Guys like Kemo and Foster don't fit.
Adams, Colon, Pouncey, DeCastro, Gilbert
J.Scott or Starks-swing tackle
Legs-backup center/IOL
Essex(who apparently has found Jenny Craig...do you think someone may have whispered in his ear?)-backup everywhere.
Young guy (Turner???/C.Scott???/???)
If Foster even makes the roster...how does he earn a hat? (barring injury, of course!)
