Do any of you think he can come in and play/start at RT? I know he was a LT in college, but if he can start at RT, maybe the PS cut Colon and use his money towards a long term deal for Wallace, or is that scenario a pipe dream?

I don't know how she'll play out. Would be fun to spend some time in Latrobe this summer to see their rotations. But hey, for once there's actual competition at the tackle positions.

That would be great, then Gilbert at RT, what do you do with Colon?

If you cut Colon this year, you basically do not save any salary cap. Most of his money in his new contract became a bonus that was paid out for this year; you would only save the minimum salary for the year which is relatively peanuts.

Most likely scenario is that Adams gets his redshirt year and plays swing tackle, especially after missing OTAs until mid June. Adams sits behind Colon to start the season at least, Gilbert gets the chance to start at LT this year. After the season, Colon is released and frees up the cap space you'll need to resign some people and then Adams plays RT or if Gilbert falters, Adams gets his shot at LT and Gilbert has already shown he can play RT.

Don't think they will go with 2 rookie starters on the OL, barring injury. Plus the LT is just in his 2nd year and switching from RT. Of course, with Colon's injury history and penchant for false starts, Adams could get in there rather quickly.

Immediately after DeCastro was drafted I started pining for Adams to be the next pick going so far as to the say the Steelers should trade up for him. Reason I was so steadfast in my belief the Steelers needed to go up and get Adams was Willie Colon. I don't give a monkey's ass what they're paying him...Colon has missed 2 straight seasons w injuries. He's not a reliable player talent or health wise. Adams is MORE than capable in beating out Colon if given a fair shot...should Colon's salary or more likely tenure grant him the starting RT job it's only a matter of time (short time) before Adams is in the starting line up.

Kugler was going to have a beer and think about it. I hope he has some balls and inserts Adams/Decastro as the starting left side of the line day 1. Then you have 3 starters in place in the same position from last year and everybody in their ideal spot.
