Marquis Maze WR Alabama

Height: 5077
Weight: 186
40 Yrd Dash: 4.51
Vertical Jump: 33 1/2
Broad Jump: 09'04"
20 Yrd Shuttle: 4.33
3-Cone Drill: 6.90

Small, but quick receiver who plays productive football. Quickly releases off the line, displays sharpness into breaks and stays low on exit. Displays soft and strong hands, has good eye/hand coordination and effectively extends to make the reception away from his frame. Stays with the action, finds the clearing in the defense and works hard to come free. Nicely makes the reception in stride and shows skill running after the catch. Gives effort blocking.

Negatives: Undersized and loses out in battles. Does not always come away with the difficult reception. More quick than fast and doesn't stretch the field.

Analysis: Maze is a slippery receiver with the ability to positively impact a franchise in a variety of ways. He'll offer potential as a slot receiver and could be a dangerous punt returner. Limited by size and poor top-end speed, Maze is a solid last-day choice who should see significant action as a rookie.

surprised nobody took a flier on maze as a return specialist...

i like the signing, i just don't know how he beats the numbers game... added clemons to an already strong group at wr, added rainey to handle returns... maybe he could squeeze onto the roster as the 6th wr?

#Steelers sign Ryan Lee OG from #Furman #NFLDraft

Hey whoop de dooo

a B2B special finally gets signed. about damn time

Ryan Lee's workout numbers jump off the page. He has had some character flags, which drove down his stock a bit. Really accomplished player, though.

30 inch arms

I will say this...Lee was dominant against Florida
He had 9 consecutive pancakes in a 1AA playoff game against GA Southern who has 2 draft- able players in the DLine next year

Nice to see Maze sign here. I like him a lot as a return man, but the kid couldn't stay healthy this year. Every big game he was like 1 play and done.

thought I saw Hightower & Upshaw saying he was most underrated WR on their team an would be playing at the next level for sure.

Only way maze makes team is if he beats out Rainey. Good guy to bring in though

I see your point but I really don't think Clemons would dress and he has a higher ceiling than maze. Even if he were a little better I think the steelers would still keep Clemons for the upside. Haley obviously already has a plan for Rainey so unless he really fucks up maze is a ps candidate. Nice player there though. Could contribute if we get injuries for sure. I like him
