The 2008 AP Defensive Player of the Year hasn't been shy about ripping the league after he was docked $100,000 for illegal hits last season. In the August issue of Men's Journal, his rants against Goodell reach another level of wrath.

"If that man was on fire and I had to piss to put him out, I wouldn't do it," Harrison told the magazine. "I hate him and will never respect him."

His other descriptions of the commissioner include an anti-gay slur, "stupid," "puppet" and "dictator."

If the Steelers had defeated the Green Bay Packers in the Super Bowl, Harrison said, he would have whispered in Goodell's ear during the trophy ceremony: "Why don't you quit and do something else, like start your own league in flag football?"

Harrison also criticizes other NFL execs, Patriots-turned-commentators Rodney Harrison and Tedy Bruschi ("clowns"), Houston's Brian Cushing ("juiced out of his mind") -- and even teammates Rashard Mendenhall and Ben Roethlisberger for their performances in the Super Bowl loss. Harrison questions whether a black player is punished more for a hard hit on a white player than the opposite.

On the two interceptions thrown by Ben Roethlisberger in last year’s Super Bowl:
“Hey, at least throw a pick on their side of the field instead of asking the D to bail you out again. Or hand the ball off and stop trying to act like Peyton Manning. You ain’t that and you know it, man; you just get paid like he does.”

The "D" bailed us out in that game? Really?

Wow. I'm sure he's not the only person who feels that way about Goodell or the Pats but it takes balls to come out in public to say that.

That being said, it's not a smart move. If Goodell gets all David Stern-like, he will be punished severely.

All in all though, I think it comes out neutral - those that love him will love him more while those that already hate him will only hate him more. Though it could make it harder for others to criticize Goodell if they don't want to be associated with Harrison.

Now there's a man that's not intimidated by anyone or anything. I fully respect a man that tells you exactly how it is from his perspective. Without sugar coating anything. However....

"stupid," "puppet" and "dictator." AND
"Why don't you quit and do something else, like start your own league in flag football?"

Although I completely agree with his opinion of goofwell (and then some) I wish he'd keep his opinions to himself for the teams sake.

I couldn't agree more about the jackasses turned wanna-be analysts harrison and bruschi, both liars and cheats. However, they're paid to share their opinions no matter how much we can't stand them. I'll throw sapp in there as well.

and even teammates Rashard Mendenhall and Ben Roethlisberger for their performances in the Super Bowl loss.

Not a big fan of throwing my teammates under the bus either. At the same time Harrison is entitled to his opinion it might be better if he'd kept them to himself for now.

Although the question may have some merit I'm not so convinced about the racist under tones Harrison is implying. On the flip side I wouldn't be surprised either.

I understand Harrison and his opinions and agree to some extent because I'm a Steeler fan and follow this team closely. In the end to the average joe schmo fan and other teams fans Harrison represents himself poorly in this article and resembles a bitter, whiny poor sport. IMO

What's the difference between a gay slur and an anti-gay slur?

I reread this quote: I think he meant that the offense was "asking" or expecting the D to bail them out. He didn't mean actually bail them out

Really? You aren't intimidating enough so you have to pose with your guns?

I'm okay with everything except the Mendenhall and Roethlisberger comments. Just fucking stupid and uncalled for. Something a team captain doesn't do.
