What is this next season really going to be like? Every away game is going to be filled with "Pedophile U" banners and a big negative vibe. They won't contend and if they did, that would be even worse, because they are so reviled. The homerism will only worsen the perception of the University as a beer swigging school with warped priorities.
How do you associate PSU football with "fun times on Saturday" under this cloud?
Other than the (greatly exaggerated) economic impact, what is the point of carrying on?

Quote: A spokesman for Paterno's family, who has not seen any e-mails, told CNN Paterno didn't communicate by e-mail and defended the coach. "Everyone should want the truth ... and Joe always told the truth," Dan McGinn told CNN. "He did the right thing. He told his boss about McQueary." Why is this the "Right" thing? Wouldn't going to the authorities be the "right" thing if you've just been told that a child was getting molested? JoePa basically passed this up the chain of command and wiped his hands clean of the situation. He didn't do the right thing. He didn't do enough.

Swiss - yes, I'm the assclown who wants the program shut down, because the cover-up was designed to protect it. I'm the jackass who doesn't want PSU's cover-up to succeed. I'm such a bastard.
Some kids who had nothing to do with it will suffer? Like USC kids when they got punished because of Reggie Bush? Cry me a fucking river. Shit happens. Extend their eligibility. Let them transfer without waiting a year. I don't give a shit. But SHUT IT DOWN. It no longer deserves to exist.
THERE'S MORE TO LIFE THAN PENN STATE FOOTBALL.
Welcome to reality. There you go ascribing motive again. We've been over this. Any cover up could have just as easily been designed to protect the university as a whole. So, shut down the whole school?? The USC kids still played football....so the fuck did everyone else with sanctions with exception of SMU with the death penalty, and whoever else, if anyone, had that sentence. As far as reality goes, the reality is that the program's not being shut down. So...welcome to that. Riiiiight. Because if there's one thing people at the time associated with Jerry Sandusky, it was Penn State academics. Not being shut down? We'll see. Deserves to be shut down? Damn right. If it survives, have fun rooting for the school that got away with covering-up child rape.

Joe at least had enough sense, whatever he was doing/not doing, to avoid putting anything in writing (so far as we know). Spanier and his buttboys must not have gotten the 411, "Emails are forever." Their concern for the victims in those exchanges really paints PSU in a warm light.

definately a well thought out plan concocted by Joe to be part of a child molestation ring and conspiracy to leave just enough clues to keep Sandusky at the forefront and stretch it out past the statute of limitations while leaving no traceable evidence behind that he was the real mastermind to whole damned thing.
Fucking brilliant

They'll explain it to you. thats my point, they guys who didn't do enough already got caught Looks like, via these emails, all of them were extremely responsible for what went on. All of them, including Paterno. When, according to these CNN sources) "the guys who didn't do enough" initially planned to go to the authorities BACK IN 2001 and turn in Sandusky, only after a conversation with "Joe" they all decided against that approach. That's bad. Real, real bad. I mean..... Quote: But the next night, Curley sent an email to Spanier, saying that after thinking about it more and talking to Paterno, he was "uncomfortable'' with that plan and wanted to work with Sandusky before contacting authorities, the report said. If these emails are the real deal, this will be Joe Paterno's legacy. ...and that's exactly as it should be. oh, "only after a conversation with Joe" , missed that part love to see that transcript, you got it? didn't think so legacy still intact

Fucking brilliant Nobody said he was the mastermind, or part of any molestation ring. All we've said is he was part of covering-up Sandusky's crime to protect Penn State football. How fucking dumb are you?

legacy still intact KC's inability to produce physical evidence does not mean there is a lack of evidence. Perhaps you have him confused with an actual investigator? I'm pretty sure he's not Louis Freeh... But don't worry. You'll get to hear ALL ABOUT IT. And soon. Legacy intact?

Other than the (greatly exaggerated) economic impact, what is the point of carrying on? Right....'cuz Penn State's always been viewed as a "beer swigging school." Seems to me like a price is being paid from those who failed to do the right thing. Where else are the 'warped priorities?' Point of carrying on is that you've got a hundred some kids that did nothing wrong and who want to suit up and play.

How fucking dumb are you? How fucking dumb are you is the more relevant question. You continue to make assumptions of why any cover-up that took place, was executed.
