Mobster turned FBI informant. Goodfellas is in my personal top 5 favorite movies.

I guess these guys were his "Pittsburgh Connection".

Swiss, i drive through Swissvale everyday going to work. Probably much different today than in your days, though i will say that the end of Swissvale down by the parkway (I-376) still looks pretty nice. The end towards Rankin is ghettolishious

Swissvale was a bit more vibrant back in the day, but never would be considered suburbia. You probably travel monongahela avenue, which is the main drag. There's a hi-rise elderly housing on the right, site of the old swissvale high school. Then u pass brush's bar (now boomerang), the dari delite, the lincoln civic club (where old and young dagos came toghether...now unescorted women and definitely no blacks), then the triangle bar before crossing into rankin. Were some awesome b-ball games on collingswood ave down by the triangle. As far as hill's pittsburgh connection, I have to laugh when I see tony perla described as a librarian. Dude was a bad actor from waaaay back. Rocco was a good kid...I knew him and kuhnie pretty well. I'm sure the point-fixing was all tony. Their sister was hot as fuck!! I played football w kuhnie...last time I saw him was before easter one year, he had given up on baseball after some time in the reds chain. He was telling us that johnny bench was a fuckin prick but pete rose was as nice a guy as they come...would take the younger players to the track

Yep, drive monongahela ave every morning and afternoon. Triangle bar and grill's battleships and destroyers are the bomb! Actually Swiss, one area that has really gotten bad over the years, and not far from Swissvale is Penn Hills. They're in the news almost daily for various crimes...wtf?

I used to make those battleships, John....6 at a time. So did, FC, under different ownership. I guess Tommy Crombie runs the place now. I remember as a little shit in the neighborhood. His sister, Erin, was alright.

Yeah, Penn Hills used to be okay. But, right next to Wilkinsburg, it's way downhill now. It was one of the nicer suburbs at one time. We always went to the East Hills Shopping Center. That's where I met John Henry Johnson. They had a great Italian store, Zanetti's.....cheeses hanging from the ceiling, that kinda shit.

Believe it or not, Braddock used to be okay. When I was a kid, my parents often brought us shopping in Braddock on Saturday nights.

Eastland Mall was the place before Monroeville Mall. Believe it or not, Eastland Mall replaced McKeesport 5th Ave. as the shopping mecca of Pittsburgh.

The Jump Into Fire (helicopter coke binge) and Layla (Lufthansa heist whacks) montages in Goodfellas are the greatest ever.
