But consider they are taken on 8x10 inch dry plate glass negatives, that's quite huge for the fragile dry plate glass for even now!, and appear to be relatively fast exposure times looking at the slight blur of the moving people entering Forbes Field. Months ago I came across (simulated) Russian color photos from the same era, and some have amazing clarity for triple emulsion prints, (3 exposures with a red, green, and blue filters) taken three times consecutively would account for the slight blur when people are the subject on the link. http://www.boston.com/bigpicture/2010/08/russia_in_color_a_century_ago.htmlHere's a sample.  Kind of an ominous look with the ground in clear focus but the moving clouds slightly blurred. Glass negatives were also used, but camera stability while changing filters is kind of amazing.
