And rate it thread.
Why? Because there's no practice today for the Steelers so there's no new news and I'm bored.
Rango- 8 Surprisingly entertaining for an animated movie. Johnny Depp is the man even as a lizard and Isla Fisher was entertaining as Beans
Cowboys and Aliens-2 Absolute Trainwreck of a movie. The positives, Daniel Craig is James Bond in a hat, Negatives, almost everything else. You call it Cowboys and Aliens and Laserguns and there is the whole movie.
What about you all?

Dinner With Schmucks - 6. It was very funny in some spots, but it entered Jack Black territory for me (hilarious for 30 minutes but then got sorta repetitive). Paul Rudd was pretty good as a somewhat serious character and I think Steve Carrell is hilarious in general, but the movie kinda went nowhere after awhile.

I've seen three recently, can't remember which order I saw them in.
1. Bad Teacher - Pretty funny and worth a watch, although it'll probably be the last time I ever see it.
2. Transformers: Dark of the Moon - First half sucked donkey balls, second half was decent, but far from great. First half was guilty of one of my biggest pet peeves. Please, Hollywood, stop trying to cram comedy into action movies where it just doesn't fit. It just ends up being stupid, in the end. I'm there to watch giant robots punch each other in the face as many times as possible. That's it. I don't mind some subtle things, particularly if they're obscure references to the original transformers that nostalgists like myself appreciate. What I do not want is to see Optimus Prime delivering one-liners.
Picking from the recent run of comic book movies, I think the first Iron Man movie was the best example of how to balance comedy into an action flick without overdoing it. It made me laugh, but it actually fit the character. Tony Stark is supposed to brash and cocky, and that's where the majority of the laughs came from in the movie. I was fine with that. But the last two Transformers movies, in my opinion, just launched way over the line.
Thankfully (maybe even mercifully), the second half of Dark Side of the Moon was much more action-heavy and steered away from the idiotic comedy routine.
3. Thor - OK, but fell into the same trap that I just ranted about in the Transformers summary. The "Foreigner in a new land" comedy routine is so played out that I just found it corny, at best. Maybe that's hard to get away from given Thor's backstory. I don't know. Action sequences were good, but not great. Worth a watch if you're a comic book junkie. If you don't give two shits about Thor or comic books, I'd probably stay clear of it.

The Rite, starring Anthony Hopkins. An exorcism movie that went nowhere. I fell asleep through 25 minutes in the middle and missed nothing. I give it a 2. Horrible.

Captain America - 8. Definitely not a thinking man's movie but for a fun movie based on a comic book, you can't go wrong. Great special effects, and a nice twist at the end.

Horrible Bosses - 9/10. Hilarious. One of the best comedies of the year (surprisingly so; had low expectations).
Bad Teacher sucked, C4L. You're crazy.
Edit: I take it back. I saw that Justin Timberlake/Mila Kunis movie. Friends with Benefits? 7/10. Pretty funny. Wait for the DVD.

Zookeeper. 0/10.
Possibly the worst movie ever.
Next up: Bad Teacher.

Battle LA 5/10 Aaron Eckhart has a nice little heartfelt monologue speech time thing but other than that this movie is Skyline all over again.
Skyline is horrendous for those who were wondering.

Bad Teacher was mildly amusing. I enjoyed the character dynamics. Comedy-wise I'd give it a 6/10, but overall... 7/10. And while I enjoyed watching it once, and didn't hate it, nothing about it makes me want to watch it again. Next: Smurfs, Crazy Stupid Love, Captain America, Cowboys & Aliens, Source Code, and Horrible Bosses (listed in order from lowest to highest expectations)

Couldn't watch 10 minutes of Smurfs. Not sure why I even tried. Probably this:
