I don't think that ol skool would mind my sharing this with the board. I'm familiar with this documentary series, it's in 6 or 7 parts, the first 3 are about JFK. This is the first. Watch with an open mind. To me, it's as valid as the Posner position. The producer apparently had access to news footage, some of which I'd not seen before I watched this documentary. The Dallas police officer being interviewed throughout is Officer Roger Craig. Google him for more info.
The bottom line to all of this is that this was a tragedy of the highest order.

Throughout history....our government has covered a whole lot up You can make a good case that the reasons for starting ww1 ww2 and Vietnam were far from what we were told......jfk rfk mlk etc etc.... Pissed off a lot of people high up and the Kennedys in particular Didn't really give a damn because they felt somewhat untouchable.
One just has to study the facts of Pittsburgh and its steel workers early Unions to see just how easy it is for money to buy killings....
Not really uncommon at all in our history....I believe Many conspiracies have some merit....they often get a few Details wrong....the larger point often remains....the only other President so loved and hated at the same time was Lincoln
Kennedy had he lived would've completely changed American society Prolly the world too....I think he was targeted

I've been through the first two videos of the series.
At the very least, it's fascinating to see all the clips I've never seen in any other pro/anti conspiracy video.

My opinion? He would have been the greatest President we've ever had.

I dunno about the greatest. Tough to get ahead of the Mt. Rushmore boys:
1. George Washington - created the template and did a fine job with all the bullshit going on around him (Federalists vs. Anti-Federalists). Absolutely refused any type of monarchy label associated with the Presidency. 2. Thomas Jefferson - JFK said himself, there hadn't been a greater collection of intellect in the White House since TJ dined alone. 3. Abe Lincoln - steered us to victory in the Civil War (sorry Secesh YOU LOST!) and let's not forget that he was cut down before he could bring about a benevolent restoration of the Union. 4. Teddy Roosevelt - Bustin' trusts, settling strikes and carrying that big stick. Made us into a global force.
Honorable mention: FDR - Not crazy about his social programs, but no denying his leadership got us through the Great Depression and WWII.
The thing about JFK is it is hard to say if what he wanted to get accomplished would have been a reality had he survived Dallas. For instance, his Civil Rights initiatives were absolutely bogged down as of Nov. '63. The Civil Rights Bill passed the following year arguably because of the sympathy the Dems garnered from the assassination. Also, would he have prevented full escalation in Vietnam? We don't know. I like to think he was a great leader and President, but really the sample size just isn't big enough by, of course, no fault of his own.

Yinz, I should have qualified to say 20th Century, or at least post 1920s to present (last 100 years). Your points of course are well founded, and I would agree to a large extent, though I would push FDR higher, or at least a solid #5 without the honorable mention tag.
And in the previous post, I was actually referring to RFK. I think he may have made a better president than his brother, though of course, we'll never know.
As I said before, my lifetime, I've only "liked" two Presidents very much, to be honest. Ike and JFK. The rest? I had very little use for, to be honest, for the most part.

Yeah Bob Kennedy would have been interesting as Pres. I think he was more of a traditionalist than many think. You can be that and a liberal. It's fine. Dude was also fiercely Catholic also fine in my book. Nice to think how a Bob Kennedy presidency would have worked out.

Why did every doctor and nurse at Parkland say that the back of JFK's head was blown out? Interesting to say the least.
Who was officer J.D. Tippitt?
Thing is, when it's offered on this side, it's crazy speculation. I say the opposite is the case.
Watergate was about more than spying on the DNC.
Those are my thoughts.
Yinz, post-Rushmore, my greatest list:
1. FDR. This is like the Steelers. Everyone else falls way behind. Say what you will about his policies, man led this nation through the two greatest crises of the 20th century. I didn't have the pleasure of knowing him as President first-hand, but relatives tell me they felt better after one of his fireside chats. That's really all that mattered. Simple men, common men, hard-working men, men who were beaten down by the circumstances, felt like they were important, like their lives meant something, like they could make a difference after listening to him.
2. General Ike. He was one of our field battle leaders during the greatest war this world has ever known. He did the same in the Oval Office.
3. JFK. Flawed, without question, but you listen to him, you are taken to a different place. Even now, his speeches inspire me, and countless others. War veteran, not the liberal mush that some like to paint him.
That's pretty much it. I have no love for anyone else.
Honorable mention: Jimmy Carter and Ronald Reagan. Both of these men were guys I would have loved to have just shot the breeze with. Neither were any good as President, really. But in any other context, both were decent, and even great, men.
Everyone else from 1932 onward basically sucked in my view, for one reason or another. Sad.

My late grandparents were die-hard FDR supporters; real labor Democrats by membership and socialists at heart. It's hard for me to convey on a message board just how much respect and admiration they had for that man. They both credited their own families' very survival during the Great Depression to him. As my grandfather put it, "Any other man in office and we would've surely been lost."
