Just watched the Paranormal Activity trilogy.  Probably could have been condensed into one movie, really.  2 was a complete waste of time and barely offered any depth to the back story.

1 was a little creepy, but won't have me spooked at my own house's creeks.  3 was really cool now that we finally got an explanation.

I hear they're making a 4th.

We watched "DEMOTED" and "DRIVE" this past week. Demoted was just terrible and I don't know what the fuck we were thinking...I suppose the premise itself seemed ok...90 mins of my life I'll never get back.

I thought Drive had a good premise too, but no character development at all...just a bunch of staring and blank scenes by Gosling. Movie moved excruciatingly slow.

Poltergeist is still the best paranormal film of all time, the first one that is. I still won't watch that one alone at home in the dark. I used to watch it from time to time at my dad's, he had an old Sears catalogue home from the early 1900's that was full of all kinds of mysterious creaks through the night. And his place was right next to a cemetery to complete the effect. :)

Pi is a totally underrated paranormal masterpiece. What Touch should be if it were done right.

Haven't seen demoted, looks like thankfully, but completely agree on Drive. Dude does not have the most expressionistic face, giving him a bunch of scenes to have him act without lines was excruciating. Also, will people stop using that chick as a love interest? There isn't a single thing interesting about her.

Just watched the Sherlock Holmes movie. 2nd one. Liked it. Also watched "Being Flynn". Interesting film about a father (Robert Deniro) self appointed greatest nobel prize winning author to ever live finds himself homless and destitude with only his son whom he hasn't seen in like 20 years to rely on. Wife and I thought the film was very good. Choked both of us up a bit.

I thought Sherlock Holmes 2 was just as good as the 1st, which rarely happens in sequels. Looking forward to a 3rd.
