After weeks of speculation, Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin has announced which player will be the starting quarterback.  KDKA-TV Sports has learned Dennis Dixon will be the starting quarterback in Week 1.

The Pittsburgh Steelers signed eight players to their practice squad and named four captains Monday after trimming the roster down to 53 over the weekend.

With the regular season about to get underway, NFL rosters had to be trimmed down to 53 players by 6 p.m. Saturday. The Steelers cut some very recognizable names to get theirs under the limit, beginning with their starting center for the last two years, Justin Hartwig.
